Hello, everyone! How are you? Today we are doing the first ten pages of the new ‘1 Page At A Time’ journal! I am so, so excited to get started. It took me so long to complete, but it was well worth it. Today’s content will be a bit larger due to the increase in photos, however, after the initial introduction it will be smaller. That is all I have to say, read on!
1 Page At A Time by Adam J. Kurtz
Page One: Names Games
I was actually so excited to start this, but when I began this I had to go out. So I had roughly half an hour to begin and finish, while also studying. I had poor time management skills, which is why this entire post is late by a day and a few hours.
However, I did manage to fill in the decoration on the ‘You have everything you need’ page, before quickly colouring in, and filling my name. It’s a cute start, I really like it.
Page 2 & 3: 2020 Goals & Calling A Friend
Okay, for page two I wasn’t quite sure what to do, so I had to do a bit of googling. I found out this journal isn’t quite popular yet, so it was hard to find inspiration. Which is why for this one I just wrote in large letters, that my goal for 2020 was to be happy.
For page three, I went to go fill in the details, and then realized I was taking the photo of the page and publishing it online and realized I didn’t quite like the sound of that. So I decided to leave it blank. However, I did fill in the title.
Page 3 & 4: Overally Emotional & Reading the Time
I don’t actually like pages three and four if I could re-do them I totally would, but I was on a bit of a time crunch and I felt like it didn’t matter what it looked like, I just wanted to let out a bit of creativity.
For pages number four, I am going to slowly fill in the timestamps as I visit the page as a memory capture type-thing. I feel like its a cute idea, knowing how many times and the times I go through the book.
Page 5 & 6: First Grade Problems & Good People
Yikes, looking back at this I am realizing that page number 5 wasn’t just a blank page, that there was writing at the bottom. See, it looks a bit suss with the title of this section, but I do everything backwards, and I must’ve forgotten about the page. I’ll have to re-visit the page in the future and fix it up, but for now, I’ll leave it because I have spent so much time in 24 hours on these 10 pages.
In retrospect, my goal for these ten pages should’ve been spanned out over ten days, or over a few days, but we all make mistakes.
Page 7 & 8: Adventures & Business Cards in 2020?
Okay, let me start off with clarifying that it is 2020, and I don’t even know where I would find a business card that would fit in here anymore. I know of gift cards, but not business cards anymore. So, I had to be a little creative, and create my own. It’s not great, but it’s something. I had limited resources and a time crunch, okay. Don’t judge me!
Also, I had not the faintest clue what to put in the ‘do something you’ve never done before area’ like what does that even mean? how am I meant to visually and creatively do that on paper? So I just drew a duck, I’ve never drawn a duck before because I can’t draw, so I half traced it. Life is rough sometimes, I don’t even know why I attempt these creative journals as a non-creative person.
Page 9 & 10: Life Sucess & Hang-Up Message
Again, I feel the need to clarify that on page 9, it is meant to be a trophy. However, I cannot draw. But such is life, I suppose. That is the point of this book then, isn’t it? To get your creativity flowing. I am not a drawer, however, I feel as though I do have some creativity in writing. Creative writing is. Perhaps by the end of this journal, if it does its purpose, my creativity for writing is replenished.
Moving on, for some reason I saw the cell phone and instantly thought of Adele. No idea why, truly, but it happened. So I had to write out her lyrics. It had to be done to end of this week’s journaling.
Thank you all for reading, I do hope you enjoyed. I am so sorry this blog post was late, truly I am. I did post a warning on my Instagram but if you do not follow me there then you would not have been warned.
I will try to be more prompt about posting, if not, I will give you better content in my late posting. I promise!
